Women’s Day is a good day for a tribute

Today is International Women’s Day and we are proud to celebrate the achievements and contributions of all our female team members, without whom our company would quite simply not exist!

It is still too rare to see female founders in the startup scene and even less so in the scientific arena. In this context, LS CancerDiag is truly exceptional, since our innovative DiagMMR® method was co-invented by three women!

The main inventor being our Founder, Chairman and CEO Prof. Minna Nyström, who has been leading our company since it’s founding in 2013, and the two co-inventors Dr. Minttu Kansikas, who currently acts as our Chief Scientific Officer, and Prof. Päivi Peltomäki, who continues to support us as a trusted advisor.

Throughout it’s existence, the team has been consisting of a female majority, which is remarkable even in a country that is considered to be leading in terms of gender equality.

Just today new restrictions have come into force in Finland, which unfortunately does not allow us to come together and celebrate this important day with our co-workers.

And for the same reason we do not have a current group picture with our whole team, thus we need to dig into the archive for a placeholder until we can capture our growing team. Very fittingly, we are just welcoming our newest team member today, who is – you guessed it – a woman.
